West Moors Christmas Tree Festival ( 5th occasion for this event )
St. Martin's United Reformed Church, Station Road

10.00 am - 6.00 pm [ but open to 9.00 pm on Friday during Christmas Fair ]
Entry is free - but please feel free to leave a donation in aid of the supported charities [ Cancer Research UK and Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance. ]
Call in and share the magic of Christmas among the 30 trees, beautifully decorated by local schools, churches, organisations and traders. In 2018, £700= was raised for local and national charities. Every year seems to be better than that last, so 2019 should be well worth a visit - and only a short step away from the local shops!

Thursday 5th December
Viva Voce Choir - Christmas Concert
St. Mary's parish church, Station Road (opposite Memorial Hall - parking available)
7.30 pm
A return visit from this wonderful mixed choir bringing with them, all of your favourite Christmas songs. Time to relax, enjoy and revel in the Christmas season. After the concert there will be mince pies, mulled wine or fruit juice.
Tickets are £8= for adults, £4= for children - from Dixon Kelley Estate Agents ( Penn Court ), or from Chris Wilson 01202 890 098 or Peter Dunning 01202 871 616 or on the door. The concert is in aid of The Shine Project and St. Mary's Church.

Friday 6th December
" Carols on the Petwyn ": West Moors Christmas Fair & Carol Service
Procession down Station Road ( leaving St. Martin's URC ) - then Service & other events around The Petwyn: the Service will be jointly led by Revd. James Whately ( St. Martin's United Reformed Church ) and Revd. Andy Muckle ( St. Mary's parish church ); for both, this will be their first time officiating at this event - come along and give them support! St. Martin's Gospel Choir will also be singing - both at the service and on return to St. Martin's.
Evening ... timings: events begin circa 5.45 pm ( Torch-light procession from St. Martin's Church, near Library ) and continue until roughly 9.30 pm.
Among features: carols by children from local schools ... short readings ... Santa will hand out sweets ... Red Barrows race ( 7.00 pm ). Variety of stalls selling hot food, drink and Christmas gifts with many shops / businesses staying open late. Raffle tickets will be sold with all proceeds going to the Youth Club.
Wrap up warm, bring a torch and have fun - an early start to the festive season.

The first event of the year for St. Mary's is the very popular gathering in the Memorial Hall. This is a fun evening for all the family, young and old. Come along and join in or just sit back and enjoy the fun - and the supper!
