This section list clubs, societies etc., that don't have their own external web site or a page hosted here. I have attempted to keep the listing up to date, but bear in mind that details are sometimes changed - and those changes don't always make it to me! If you are aware of errors, please let me know.

Sturts Community Trust have (from summer 2016) made available land & facilities to enable local people to have an allotment. Information / images provided by the Sturts Community can be seen at this page . . . Sturts Farm: allotments.

Art Society
A friendly group who meet in the West Moors Memorial Hall on Monday mornings 9.15 am - Noon ( but check beforehand for summer break, usually in August & there are no meetings on Bank/Public Holiday Mondays ) - all welcome. Members work in all media and help & encourage each other. A demonstration by a professional artist is usually available on the second Monday in each month. Call for more details as below:-

Carers Support Group
West Moors Group Practice (Station Road, but access from Farm Road behind Chemist) run a carers support group on the first Wednesday of every month - 10.00 - Noon: this meets in The Pavilion, on Fryer Field - access via Bond Avenue (off Station Road). They try to do something different each month such as trips to local garden centres, tea/coffee, guest speakers, flower arranging - and each year there is a Christmas lunch. You can just show up on the first Wednesday of each month or contact the surgery and ask for more information (current contact Alison). Call for more details as below:-

Dancing Classes ("Rhythm & Dance")

Health Walks
Health walks are available here in West Moors; these 'volunteer-led' walks leave from the Penn Court Café (access via Pennington Road) each Thursday at 10.00 am. The walks last for around one hour. The web site for Moors Valley linked below has more detail & a useful diary of future walks.

In addition, there is a web site (not specifically connected with Moors Valley) that gives more detail regarding 60-minute walks; a variety of maps and other information is indicated; these walks depart from outside the Petwyn Café at 10.00 am, also on Thursdays - with coffee and chat afterwards.

Lunch and Friendship Club 
Meeting every Wednesday ( but check beforehand - there is a summer break, usually in August ) at St. Anthony's Church Hall, 8, Pinehurst Road [ but main access point & car park is found off Woolslope  Road ]. Members ( aged 60 or over ) arrive between 11.00 am and 12 noon (a chat and visit the Bring & Buy, then lunch, two course - followed by tea / coffee ), finishing around 3.30 pm, after varied activities including a weekly raffle, bingo, table games or other entertainment - and of course simply meeting and chatting with friends, old and new!
Contact numbers below for more detail ( including costs ) and to arrange assistance with transport for those unable to make their own way to the Hall.

Mothers' Union (St. Mary's) 
The Mothers' Union meet in St. Mary's church hall (attached to the Church) on the third Monday of the month at 7.30 pm unless otherwise stated. Seniors' Luncheon Club - West Moors Middle School 
"Tuesday Lunch Club" for older people [over-60s]: meeting on Tuesdays (term-time only - check beforehand for exact dates, times etc.); generally attend from 1145 am, for a start at Noon - the school is located in Heathfield Way. Meals freshly cooked in the school canteen and served by the children; £5.50 for a two-course meal, includes a hot drink.

Townswomen's Guild
West Moors has a recently established (February 2018) Townswomen's Guild (TG). Meetings are held every 3rd Thursday in the month at 2.00 pm (until 4.00 pm) in the Memorial Hall, Station Road (opposite the parish church of St. Mary's) and welcome all ladies to come along and enjoy the afternoon (ample off-road car-parking available). There is a monthly lunch club outing and a monthly book club . . . and other outings are planned. The local TG branch also joins with other Dorset Federation members for events and holidays. Contact as below for more information. 
There is a visitors fee of £3= if you attend a meeting. After two meetings we hope you will join us. The fee for 2020 is £28=. We have a variety of speakers or activities.
