Oakhurst Community First and Nursery School
Oakhurst Community First & Nursery School is situated on Shaftesbury Road (which links Oakhurst & Elmhurst roads, running north off Pinehurst Road); it was opened in 1971 and the 'first' school takes pupils from ages 4+ to 9. It is now (since 2016) part of the Heath Academy Trust group of schools, along with St. Mary's First School. St. Catherine's Catholic Primary School
This voluntary aided, Roman Catholic primary school is situated in Colehill - about 5 km / 3 miles west of West Moors; as well as offering education from the ages of 5 to 11, it also has a pre-school facility.

St. Mary's CofE First School & Nursery
St. Mary's CE VC First School admits pupils ages 4+ to 8+ (Reception & Years 1 to 4): it is located on The Avenue, near its junction with Station Road and opposite the parish church with which it is closely associated. It is now (since 2016) part of the Heath Academy Trust group of schools, along with Oakhurst Community First School. From early September 2017, the adjacent Nursery facility has been fully integrated into the school structure.

This school, covering the 'middle' stage in the local three-tier school system (ages 9 to 13), is located on Heathfield Way. It was opened in 1977 & takes pupils from West Moors and surrounding communities.

Sturts Community Trust
A 90 acre working organic farm that offers a land based community for adults with learning disabilities.
