[ SUSPENDED BUT PLANNING A RE-START! ]
I have had the following message from Sheila Davies, President of the West Moors WI branch:....
" The WI hope to resume in July following the 'Road Map' set out, but of course this can change.
The first meeting - if we get the go-ahead will be a social event and general catch up and at present, we are still in the planning stage for further meetings as like everyone else we are still in uncertain times.
West Moors WI celebrate their centenary this year and had been in the early stages of planning events to mark this occasion, these will be moved to early next year to give time to plan properly.
Anyone wanting further information about the WI and our meeting programme for this year can contact any of the listed below:-
Sheila Davies - President 01202 981 244
Lynda Hatfield - Secretary 01202 868 781
Penny Gaines - Treasurer 01202 875 714
As with every other organisation we are still waiting for guidance from our HO when we can resume"

West Moors Women's Institute meet in the afternoon on the first Thursday of each month at 14.15 (2.15 pm) in the West Moors Memorial Hall (Station Road, opposite parish church, off-road parking available). We total approximately fifty in number and are a friendly group of ladies ranging from the young, to the not quite so young!
At our meetings we usually have a guest speaker, covering a wide range of interesting topics from travel, history, local affairs, health and much more. We also arrange outings and our craft group meets fortnightly on Tuesday mornings.
[ When the full programme of events is published then it will be entered hereunder ]
We would like you to join us as a visitor at one of our meetings where you will be welcomed by our hostess and learn more about the Women's Institute in West Moors.

The Institute celebrated 100 years of existence in 2015: the first WI meeting was held in Llanfairpwll (Anglesey) on the 16th September, 1915. This plaque, and associated rose planting, commemorates that event.
The plaque and rose were originally located at the southern end of the Petwyn: it was decided in the Spring of 2017 that both items should be re-located to the garden area at the front of the Memorial Hall, where this image was taken in April of that year.
